Demand Variations

Consumer electricity demand varies from day to night, at weekends and with seasons. The generation systems must cope with these variation which are large.

The extreme demand variations are between night in summer and day in winter. Typically these variations can be such that the winter demand can be twice the summer demand. These variations must be compensated by modified generation. The fuel which provide these modification is different from country to country
